Finished: Spike Video Game Awards

Well, I just woke up from a wonderful night of sleeping. No, I did not watch the livestream. And I'm actually quite happy that I didn't because I would probably have face-palmed so hard that my eyeballs would now be popping out on the other side of my head. Now, I hear you say, "But that's biased! Those are, like, your opinions man!".
All in good time, dear reader. Read below for the list of winners and my comments on them.
(Warning: The text that is not bold is heavy with OPINIONS instead)

Game of the Year - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have to say, I do think this one was deserved. Without risking to confer too many of my opinions upon you, I will just say that I would have picked Skyrim, too.

Developer of the Year - Bethesda

Sure, this one I can accept as well. They did after all make the Game of the Year, so why not give them two awards while we are at it? I mean, they ARE the most popular studio, right?

Best XBOX 360 Game - Batman: Arkham City

I haven't played the game or any other games for the 360, really, so I'm going to go ahead and agree with this one. But wait, the game is on PC and PS3 as well, isn't it? That's not an exclusive!

Best Interactive Bluray-Player Game (PS3 Game) - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

I will stop making comments on console games now, because I haven't played the games OR any other console games for that matter.

Best Wiiiiiiiiii Game - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Console games - no further comments.

Best PC Game - Portal 2

Sure, Portal 2 was a good game. But was it a PC exclusive? No! And none of the nominated games were! In fact, the only game in the list that is currently PC exclusive is The Wicher 2. But that is getting ported to the 360 as well, so it doesn't really count. But yes, if you ask me (which you probably don't), The Witcher 2 was the best one of those listed there. Again, OPINIONS. But I would have been much happier if they had actually picked PC exclusives.

Best Handheld/Mobile Game - Super Mario 3D land

Console games - no further comments.

Best Shooter - Modern Copypasta 3

WHAT THE HELL?! Oh, it was a joke! Good one, haha, nearly got me there!

.....Wait, you're serious, aren't you? I think the eyeballs popping out the back of my head pretty much explain my opinions on this.

Best Action Adventure Game - Batman: Arkham City

Console games - no further comments. Well, not really, but also, yes, kinda. Sure, I'll agree! What else do you want from me?

Best RPG - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Ok, sure. I can agree with this one.
Did you notice that Dragon Age 2 was nominated? If this whole thing really is a joke it's not really a funny one.

Best Multi-Player Game - Portal 2

Actually it's more like "best co-op". Eugh.

Best Individual Sports Game - Fight Night Champion

Console Games - No further comments.

Best Team Sports Game - NBA 2K12

Console Games - No further comments.

Best Driving Game - Forza Motorsport 4

Console Games - No further comments.

Best Fighting Game - Mortal Kombat

Console Games - No further comments.

Best Motion Game - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Console Games - No further comments.

Best Independent Game - Minecraft

Well, this was... expected. I am still happy that The Binding of Isaac was nominated, though.

Best Adapted Game - Batman: Arkham City

This was also expected. Batman now has three trophies. Good for him!

Best Song in a Game - Build That Wall from Bastion

No comments. Listen to it here.

Best Original Score - Bastion

Again, not really much to comment here. There are of course other games that have better score, but it's not like I care any longer.

Best Graphics - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Wait, a CONSOLE GAME get's the best graphics award? I'm sorry, but I think you meant "Best visual aesthetics", because graphics-wise there are about 912 other games that have better visuals. The sad part is it doesn't really even have good aesthetics. Well, it does, but you know, there are MANY other games that have much better visual aesthetics.

Best Performance by a Human Male - Stephen Merchant as Wheatley from Portal 2

Not a big judge on voicing, so no comments here. The voicing was pretty solid, though, so it's not undeserved.... I guess?

Best Performance by a Human Female - Ellen McLain as GLaDOS

See last comment.

Best Downloadable Game - Bastion

Okay.

Best DLC - Portal 2 Peer Review

That DLC was free, right? Well, so was The Witcher 2's 2.0 arena update thing. Oh, who am I even arguing with? Whatever.

Oh, and we got some trailers and stuff.
