The 99% Bundle

So, I should have posted about this a long time ago (days, even), but somehow it slipped my mind. We are being drowned by pay-what-you-want DRM-free indie bundles. But this one is a bit different. It's pay NOTHING for 13 games. Or you could pay for it if you wanted to, and that would make you a very kind and generous soul. Grab it now.

Guild Wars 2 Q&A Session Summary

The Systems Designer for Guild Wars 2 was on Reddit yesterday answering questions. I've picked out some interesting ones but if you want to see the whole thread, go here.

Xciting Xperience Xpected

Well, not NOW really.
The X series of games by Egosoft are a very special breed of game.  Single-Player oriented, massive universe, plenty of freedom and many, many ways to "win" the game.

In addition to giving players the freedom to choose careers ranging from policing to piracy, massive industry and trade, X is a beautiful series, with haunting music, stunning graphics and an almost visceral interaction system (opinions).

Final Guild Wars 2 Profession Leaked: Mesmer

The final profession leaked today, and as anticipated it was the Mesmer and I must admit it looks really cool. Official anouncement will be made on Wednesday. Now we're just looking forward for a date for Open Beta.

Eve Online - Occupy New Eden

Eve Online is mainly known for the ridiculous learning curve, record-breaking scams, metagaming and extraordinarily boring mining.

I've played this damnable game since March of 2009, making me a 3 year "bitter vet" in just 3 months.

But if I'm to be completely honest a lot of the bitterness has left me since the most recent expansion: "Crucible"

Charty: Skyrim beats Modern Warfare 3 sales in the UK

According to charts, Modern Warfare 3 is no longer the best-selling game in the UK. That would be Skyrim. At first I thought that it had a lot to do with the recent VGA's, where Skyrim did win a few awards. But then I checked the chart results again. They were actually from BEFORE the VGA winners were announced.

Finished: Spike Video Game Awards

Well, I just woke up from a wonderful night of sleeping. No, I did not watch the livestream. And I'm actually quite happy that I didn't because I would probably have face-palmed so hard that my eyeballs would now be popping out on the other side of my head. Now, I hear you say, "But that's biased! Those are, like, your opinions man!".
All in good time, dear reader. Read below for the list of winners and my comments on them.
(Warning: The text that is not bold is heavy with OPINIONS instead)

Leaking like titanic: Metal Gear Solid "Rising" has a trailer

So, another day, another leak. This time it's Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which is supposed to be featured in a few hours at the Spike VGA's but got "leaked" a bit ahead of time. Quotation marks, you ask? Well, I'm only speculating...

At a Distance: it looks like an indie game from the VVVVVV dev's

At a Distance, coming from the developers of VVVVVV, is a game about co-operation and using your brain. It's apparently meant to be played on two computers next to each other, and with one of those newfangled Xbox controllers. Head over here to grab it for free.

Leaked: Concept Art and Wallpapers from Stalker 2

We just received some VERY interesting material. Lo and behold!

Update 4: Good news! Apparently they are still developing the game.

Update 3: Sergei Galenkin just blogged about the situation. "GSC is closed, a fact confirmed by all. The team is almost completely dissolved, the state has only a few people."
This really is sad. Here's for hoping that they release the code to all.

Update 2: It has been confirmed that GSC are closing down. This is a sad day indeed.

Update: There are unconfirmed reports of GSC closing down. Sadly, they seem to be true. But let's wait and see how the situation develops.

Nostalgia Remake: Renegade X

Back in the day I was a huge fan of Command & Conquer: Renegade. It was a lot of fun, both in multiplayer and singleplayer, furthering the storyline of C&C to a whole new level. When I found this today, it put a huge smile on my face. This will simply be an amazing remake. Kudos to the guys that have undertaken this MAJOR project.

The Witcher 2 be-witchingly cheap

And that's why you don't mess with Geralt

Good old Games is currently running a sale on The Witcher 2 for the surprisingly low sum of $23.99. And that includes the enhanced edition of the original Witcher-game. And, as with all GoG games, it's DRM-free and includes lots of goodies like the soundtrack, wallpapers and avatars.
In my opinion The Witcher 2 is one of this year's top games, a really spectacular RPG, not only visually, and I would recommend anyone to play it.

The deal lasts for 48 hours and is probably the best deal you're gonna get for a while, so go ahead and grab it while you can.

Bastion+Chrome=love, Play Bastion in your browser

You can now play Bastion in your browser. For free. But only if you are using Chrome.

You will only be able to play the prologue, though. If you want more you will simply have to cash out with $15 (well, it's actually $14.99, how inconsiderate of me).
Oh, and it uses the Google equivalent of Steamcloud. You can continue where you dropped off from another computer.

I must say I'm quite interested in seeing how browser games evolve in the future.

I will now head on and try it. Maybe I'll even buy it and write a review on here later...

Update: The game controls are so unresponsive for me that it is nearly unplayable. I'll buy the game on steam later instead. I'm not sure if this is only a problem for me or for everyone.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning; a closer look at this beast of a game

2012 is closing in and the first game of the year that I look forward to get my filthy gamer hands on is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning this game looks like a massive beast with at least 200 hours of gameplay if you plan on not being casual and do everything.

Something Epic is in the making
